Identity Manager 4.0.1 is a comprehensive identity management suite. It provides an intelligent identity framework that leverages your existing IT assets and new computing models like Software as a Service (SaaS) by reducing cost and ensuring compliance across physical, virtual, and cloud environments. With dentity Manager solutions, you can make sure that your business has the most current user identity information. You can retain control at the enterprise level by managing, provisioning, and deprovisioning identities within the firewall and extending to the cloud. Through streamlined user administration and processes, Identity Manager helps organizations reduce management costs, increase productivity and security, and comply with government regulations. To meet diverse customer requirements, Identity Manager 4.0.1 is available in two editions: Identity Manager Advanced Edition and Standard Edition. Identity Manager features that are available in the Identity Manager Standard Edition are also included in the Identity Manager Advanced Edition, along with additional features. Identity Manager includes integration modules for several common customer systems, such as eDirectory, Microsoft Active Directory, LDAP v3 Directories, Novell GroupWise, and Lotus Notes. Other integration modules are included with Identity Manager, but require a separate purchase to activate them. .

Identity Vault Structure

The Identity Vault structure is predefined to suit most of your Identity Manager deployments.

There are multiple, manual notification methods when a user is to be removed from active directory and other applications leading to duplication and additional administration tasks by system administrators. Employee identity Information is scattered across systems. Temporary Contractors, Consultants and Trainees are only known to the focal points in business areas and hence, when they leave, there is a delay in disabling or deactivating user accounts in applications and in some cases they are not removed at all. There is no automated mechanism to suspend or disable user accounts in applications when a user changes his/her position in CUSTOMER. Currently there is no centralized repository of user privileges i.e., to be able to identify who has access to what applications, hence each application support team needs to check their applications to see if the terminated employee has access to it or not. There is no report that can be generated showing what applications the employee has access to. This is time consuming; there is a lack of automation in the de-provisioning process.

Below diagram explains how complex is the current identity management system is at CUSTOMER.

Novell Data Synchronizer allows personal information management (PIM) data such as e-mail, appointments, tasks, and contacts to synchronize between enterprise e-mail and collaboration applications such as Novell GroupWise and collaboration applications. The Data Synchronizer Mobility Pack replaces GroupWise Mobile Server in providing synchronization between GroupWise mailboxes and mobile devices. The Mobility Pack includes Data Synchronizer, the GroupWise Connector, and the Mobility Connector. Data Synchronizer and the GroupWise Connector, as core services, can synchronize data with Microsoft SharePoint, Sailsforce.com, and SugarCRM. (This configuration does not include synchronization with mobile devices.)
